During “Reaton Food Professional Days 2026” in Vilnius, some of the most important gastronomic competitions in Lithuania took place, organized in cooperation with the Lithuanian Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs. For many years, these competitions have been considered a key platform where top-level craftsmanship is revealed and the direction of the country’s gastronomy is shaped.

This year, marking the 25th edition of the national competitions, the best professionals in the country were selected - “Best Lithuanian Chef 2026” and “Best Lithuanian Pastry Chef 2026”.

The title of Best Lithuanian Chef 2026 was awarded to Andrius Vasilenka, Head Chef of restaurant “55” in Kaunas.

According to him, competing requires not only technical skills but also maximum focus: working under time pressure and constant observation by judges, precision and the ability to avoid mistakes become essential.

The title of Best Lithuanian Pastry Chef 2026 was awarded to Vida Barinovienė, a teacher at Klaipėda Tourism School and a dessert creator.

Her approach to creation is clear and focused – the goal is to craft a dessert where simplicity and flavor are perfectly balanced.

During the competitions, participants were evaluated by an international, certified panel of judges affiliated with the World chefs organization, ensuring the highest standards and objectivity.

According to the organizers, such competitions are not only about selecting the best but also serve as an important driving force for the growth of the entire gastronomic community – encouraging improvement, raising professional standards, and strengthening Lithuania’s international visibility.

Within the context of “Reaton Food Professional Days 2026”, these competitions became an integral part of the event – a platform where talent, experience, and ambition came together. Initiatives like these contribute to building a strong, evolving, and internationally competitive gastronomic community.
